Finding Hope, Not Hope - So, For Your Soul
Finding Hope, Not Hope - So, For Your Soul

                                 Self-Pity

Are you primarily focused on your thoughts

and activities?

Do you rush to feel sorry for yourself,

thinking others have a better life,

with less problems?

When bad things happen

do you see yourself as a victum more than an overcomer?

Do you see your life as being bad

while you see other people's lives

as always being good?

Are you experiencing depression

and hopelessness?

Do you focus of your failures?

If any of these awful traits belong to you,

would you consider getting rid of them?

Would you consider reading God's Word

every day and asking God  to help

you make the needed changes?

Would you think about being strong

standing up for a better thought pattern, one that

thanks God for whatever comes your way,

instead of grumbling, being depressedand.

Why let yourself be wrapped in that

warm, soft blanket of self-pity.

It profits you nothing.

And it has no future blessing.

Ask God to help you focus on Him.

Ask Him to help you care about other people

minister to their needs.

It is impossible, in and of ourselves,

to love our enemies,

because we are consumed with loving ourselves,

loving what we think and do.

So how are you and me to love our enemies?

Scripture says, " [Not in your own strength] for it is God

who is all the while effectually at work in you - energizing and creating in you the power and desire - both to will and to work for His good pleasure

and satisfaction and delight" (Philippians 2:13 AMP).

Everything you need to live a successful and happy life

is found in Him alone.

Only the Lord Jesus can give you a true change of heart,

a forgiving spirit and a desire to give love

without getting something in return.

God says that in order to be accepted by Him,

we must truly love him and our enemies,

even those who are ungrateful and rebellious towards Him.

We are to do good, and not harm, to our enemies.

As you recognize sin in your heart,

ask God to create within you

a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you.

Also, examine your cravings. If they do not line up with God's Word,

talk to Him about them.

Repent and turn from your sinful way

and ask Him to make Himself known to you through His wonderful Word.
