Finding Hope, Not Hope - So, For Your Soul
Finding Hope, Not Hope - So, For Your Soul

                          Love Your Enemies

"But love your enemies,

and be kind and do good - doing favors

so that someone derives benefit from them;

and lend expecting and hoping for nothing in return,

but considering nothing as lost

and despairing of no one;

and then your recompense (your reward) will be great - rich,

strong, intense and abundant - and you will

be sons of the Most High;

for He is kind and charitable

and good to the ungrateful

and the selfish and wicked.

So be merciful -sympathetic, tender,

responsive and compassionate - even as your Father is [all these].

Luke 6:35 AMP

It is impossible, in and of ourselves,

to love our enemies,

because we are consumed with loving ourselves,

loving what we think and do.

So how are you and me to love our enemies?

Scripture says, " [Not in your own strength] for it is God

who is all the while effectually at work in you - energizing and creating in you the power and desire - both to will and to work for His good pleasure

and satisfaction and delight" (Philippians 2:13 AMP).

Only the Lord Jesus can give you and me a true change of heart,

a forgiving spirit and a desire to give love

without getting something in return.

God says that in order to be accepted by Him,

we must truly love our enemies,

 even those who are ungrateful and rebellious towards Him.

We are to do good, and not harm, to our enemies.

As you recognize sin in your heart,

ask God to create within you

a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you.

Also, examine your cravings. If they do not line up with God's Word,

talk to Him about them.

Repent and turn from your sinful way

and ask Him to make Himself known to you through His wonderful Word.
