"And now I am coming to You,
I say these things while I am still in the world,
so that My joy may be made full
and complete and perfect
in them - that they may experience
My delight fulfilled in them
that My enjoyment may be perfected
in their own souls,
that they may have My gladness
within them filling their hearts." (Underline added)
John 17:13 Amplified Bible
Do you realize that the words
them, they, and their
refer to you?
Did you know Jesus' prayer,
recorded in John 17,
is what Jesus prays for you?
The Lord Jesus delights in perfecting
His joy in His children,
so you will be able to enjoy
the abundant life
He provides without your being anxious or afraid.
Jesus refers to His joy
because it is obtained only from Him.
He is the Author and the Cause of joy.
"These things I have spoken to you
so that My joy may be in you,
and that your joy may be made full."
Trying to live apart from the treasures of God, spoken in His entire Word, sooner or later leads to unhappiness.
Your joy can
be made full
when you delight in the same things
Jesus delights in;
when you worship Him;
when you love
and revere His Word;
submit to His will;
repent of your sins;
and continue to faithfully carry out the daily tasks He has given you to do.
