Help When Friends
"For it was not an enemy who reproached and taunted me;
then I might bear it;
nor one who has hated me
who insolently vaunts himself against me:
But it was you, a man my equal,
my companion and my familiar friend;
we had sweet fellowship together
and used to walk to the house of God in company."
(Psalm 55:12-14) Amplified Bible
Have friends or family turned away from you?
And even though you try to make amends,
you have not been restored to the fellowship you once had?
Do you reach out, only to be painfully rejected?
When the psalmist David experienced
a similar situation, he said:
"As for me, I will call upon God;
and the Lord will save me.
Evening and morning and at noon will I utter my complaint and moan and sigh
and He will hear my voice (Psalm 55:16) Amplified Bible
While we cannot always fix painful situations,
our loving High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ,
invites us to draw near to Him with confidence
to the throne of grace,
so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help in time of need
