"This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success."
Joshua 1:8"Amplified Bible
Look what the Holy Spirit had holy men write specifically for you, so your life can be
successful and prosperous.
This blessed promise is yours
IF you diligently follow the instructions.
As Jesus said to His disciples,
"Let these words sink into your ears" Luke 9:44,
which they, and you, cannot do unless you read and think about them.
Meditating on Scripture is one of the most important means of growth and grace. There can be no true progress in godliness without it.
If you say you do not have time to read and meditate on God's Word,
it is most likely
not because you have no time for it,
but because you have no heart for it.
"For where your treasure is,
there will your heart be also"
If this is true of you, ask God to give you a love for His Word.
If you are not familiar with God's Word,
find a copy and purchase one.
The New American Standard Bible
is the closest to the Greek and Hebrew,
which was the languages the Scriptures were written in.
THE NEW TESTAMENT WAS WRITTEN IN GREEK
THE OLD TESTAMENT WAS WRITTEN IN HEBREW
There have been minor changes through the years; However, those changes are minor - like differences in "but" and "and" for instance, in certain portions. And that was done to make the Scriptures flow better and be better to understand.
Avoid a paraphrase, for there is much error in a person saying what they think something means as compared to what God says in the Bible that was inspired by Him.
I suggest you might begin reading in the Book of John, which is in the New Testament. It's easy to understand and will delight your heart, if you read it in order to better know the Lord Jesus.
