" ...but when they measure themselves
and compare themselves with themselves,
they are without understanding.
2 Corinthians 10:12
When we compare ourselves with others,
we may think we are more approved
in God's sight than they.
How is it with you?
Do you thank God for the faithfulness
of your Christian friends
as you see them using their gifts to minister to others?
Or do you spy out their faults
and criticize them as if you think you could do better yourself?
See Paul's letter to the Colossians
Verses 1:3,4 Amplified Bible
"We continually give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah,
as we are praying for you,
for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus
[the leaning of your entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom and goodness]
and of the love which you [have and show] for all the saints (God's consecrated ones).
"Father, help all of us who call ourselves Christians, to measure ourselves, not by what we see in others, but in what we know about You from your Word.
Enrich our lives and bless us that we may grow stronger and stronger in your grace. Amen."
