"Do not let your heart be toubled,
believe in God, believe also in Me."
"But one thing I do:
forgetting what lies behind
and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal
for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
As long as you focus on your painful past,
change in your present life will not be possible.
It's your choice.
What do you want to do?
You can keep on digging that dark hole deeper and deeper,
nurturing your depression, anger, stress, self-pity, guilt, etc.,
or you can start resting in God's Word,
which will enable you to forsake
those painful emotions altogether.
What choice are you going to make?
Dear Christian, don't let your mind and heart rush into the "what ifs" of fear and troubled thinking.
Pondering the "what ifs" never benefits us.
In fact, they keeps from casting our care
Search the Scriptures for the precious promises you need.
Commit them to memory.
And any time you get into an
emotional, mental wrangle
set you mind on God's promises.
Consider Philippians 4:8:
"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is of good repute,
think on these things."
Take your thoughts captive, don't let just anything
push its way into your mind and heart.
And how do we do that?
First. begin every day in prayer and study of God's Word.
Focus on His right pathway.
Consider 2 Corinthians 10:5
that says we are to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Also, consider the fact that God has said
He has not given you a spirit of fear
but of power of love and a sound mind.
