Cure For Your Misery
If you talk to someone today that tells you they are
absolutely miserable,
what will you say?
Perhaps you will sympathize with what they are feeling.
You may even express your sorrow for their situation and say, "I wish I could help up you!"
There are miserable people everywhere and it makes us wonder how they have fallen into such a deplorable state that appears impossible to rectify.
Think with me for a minute.
How do we become miserable?
If being miserable describes you, reflect of a time when you were not miserable, if you can.
When did your misery begin?
How could you have avoided this awful situation that seems to consume you?
Consider Proverbs 6:28
"Can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched?"
In other words, can we go in a wrong direction
and find a blessing?
Can we ignore God's Word about
reaping what we sow?
Consider the fact that going in the wrong direction
always produces, sooner or later, some kind of misery
that will not be pleasant.
It could even produce death.
Perhaps you have strayed from reading
God's Word. Or perhaps you have never read it.
God is the one who made you
and He is the one who knows you
and knows how to take care of you.
"Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord
From the rising of the sun to its going down
the Lord's name is to be praised."
God in His infinite love extends to each of us everything that we need every day. And what rebellion is it that we do not regard His goodness, but wrap ourselves in all kinds of bad behavior?
Think about making a change in your thought life.
How about shifting your behavior
and your focus upward and not downward?
away from yourself and focus on the Sovereign God?How about doing something good for yourself for once!
How about reading your Bible, believing His Word?
How about praying that God will help you to
turn from a life of depression and torment
and focus upon Him?
"With God all things are possible"
